The command mount is used to determine which file system (device and type) is mounted at which mount point:

Information on total usage of the file systems can be obtained with the command df. The parameter -h (alias --human-readable) transforms the output into a form that normal people can understand:
$ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hdb2 7.4G 5.1G 2.0G 73% / /dev/hda1 74G 5.8G 65G 9% /data shmfs 252M 0 252M 0% /dev/shm totan:/real-home/jj 350G 324G 27G 93% /suse/jj
Users of the NFS file server totan should clear their home directory immediately.
The total size of all the files in a given directory and its subdirectories can be ascertained with the command du. The parameter -s suppresses the output of detailed information, while -h once again transforms the data into a form that ordinary people can understand. With this command
$ du -sh ~ 361M /suse/jj
you can ascertain how much space your own home directory is taking up.
