Browsing Files
You can use Nautilus, the Novell Linux Desktop file manager in two modes:
Spatial or Browser. In spatial mode, each folder or file opens in a new window.
In browser mode, you can view files and folders in one location.
Although some people prefer the more Macintosh-like spatial mode, former MS
Windows users may want to use browser mode, which is more like Windows Explorer.
When you double-click a file or folder in Novell Linux Desktop it automatically
shows you files in spatial mode by opening a new window for each folder. Follow
the steps below to change your preferences to show files in browser mode when
you double-click:
- Double-click a file or directory to open it.
- From this window, select Edit -> Preferences.
- Click the Behavior tab.
- Check the Do not open a new window for each folder box.
- Click Close.
- Double-click a folder in the window to make sure that it opens in browser
mode.
If you don't want to change your preferences, but still want to open a folder
in browser mode, right-click the folder and select Browse Folder.
